      Shanghai, China’s leading industrial and commercial city and major financial center, is located in the middle of the coast of the Chinese mainland and on the Southern shore of the Yangtze River estuary.     Oriental Pearl TV Tower (上海东方明珠电视塔)
       The Oriental Pearl Tower is a TV tower in Shanghai, China. The Oriental Pearl Tower is located at the tip of Lujiazui in the Pudong district, by the side of Huangpu River, opposite The Bund of Shanghai. The design of the building is based on a Tang Dynasty poem about the haunting sound made by a lute.

       It was designed by Jia Huan Cheng of the Shanghai Modern Architectural Design Co. Ltd.
     
     
    The Bund of Shanghai (上海外滩)
      The Bund is one of the most recognizable architectural symbols of Shanghai. The word "bund" derives from an Anglo-Indian word for an embankment along a muddy waterfront and that is what it was in the beginning, when the first British company opened an office there in 1846. It became the epitome of elegance during Shanghai’s history as a city of trade. Now many attractive new constructions have been erected in addition to the historical buildings. A 771-metre long retaining wall for flood control was built.
     
     
    People’s Square (人民广场)
       The People’s Square is located on the People’s Avenue, the crossing road of South Xizang Road and Fuzhou Road. It ranks an important place in the Central Business Area of Shanghai.

    Nanjing Road (南京路)
       Nanjing Road is the main shopping street of Shanghai and one of the world’s busiest shopping streets. Today’s Nanjing Road comprises two sections, Nanjing Road East and Nanjing Road West with a length of 5 km.
